Bob’s substantial experience as a civil litigator has resulted in numerous jury and non-jury trials in federal and state courts. His trial experience involves labor and employment related suits including civil rights suits, handicap, sexual harassment and discrimination claims, environmental – air and water pollution cases, crop damage cases, medical malpractice, condemnation cases, construction cases, contract disputes and personal injury litigation including wrongful death. In addition to his extensive trial experience, he has had numerous arbitrations and mediation proceedings culminating in the resolution of client disputes in many of the same areas identified above. Additionally, Bob regularly serves in the capacity as a mediator and arbitrator of disputes, and has served as a judge pro-tem in Spokane Superior Court.
Bob is frequently asked to speak on a variety of legal topics and issues including civil rights, sexual harassment and discrimination in the work place, as well as to other trial lawyers about litigation tactics and skills at Trial Lawyer's Legal Education Seminars. Bob has guest lectured at Gonzaga University School of Law; has taught “Business Law” at Spokane Falls Community College, Spokane, Washington and “Construction Law Basics,” Spokane Community College, Spokane, Washington; taught “Introduction to Law,” at Shadle High School, Spokane, Washington; been a speaker at various Washington and Idaho Construction Law Seminars; Regional State Coordinator for “Today’s Constitution and You” Program; Regional coordinator of Mock Trial Program for Spokane area high schools; and has chaired the Associated General Contractors annual Construction Law Symposium.
Before Law School, Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Survival Instructor stationed at Fairchild AFB. Bob shoots Sporting Clays in Master Class, is a certified Sporting Clays shooting instructor, writes regularly for Sporting Clays Magazine and Clays USA Magazine as well as freelance for various other outdoor magazines, including American Hunter, Ducks Unlimited, Sports Afield, and Outdoor Life, among others.
